Our Infant program is structured around the individual needs of
infants in care. We make no effort to force an infant into a center
schedule. Each child has an individual schedule posted on the wall
which is regularly updated by his/her parents.
- Our Infant Room is sized to allow for 14 infants, however we
accept no more than eight (8) infants at a time.
- We abide by individual parents wishes regarding feeding,
pacifiers and all other areas. Important note: we will not
give a child medicine above the documented dose and all medicine
must be in its original container, with proper medication droppers.
- Bottles are never propped up, babies are held and rocked while
they are feed. Older infants, who are so inclined and capable are
allow to hold their bottles - they are either held or placed in a
reclining seat - never are they allowed to "roam" with a bottle or
cup.
- Babies are never given a bottle in their cribs, as required by
state regulations.
- Babies are never allowed to "cry it out". We never place
children in their cribs and let them cry until they go to sleep,
unless it is a direct request from a parent. We will hold them,
rock them, lay them down & pat their backs, place them swings, or
walk them around in strollers.
We have an extremely loving, caring and knowledgeable
Infant Room Staff.

One new mom recently commented that we have made going back to work
so much easier, as she knows her son is happy and well cared for at or
center.
Another mom confided that she only feels comfortable leaving her
daughter with us. Her family is upset that she will not leave her
daughter with them and that she was inquiring to see if we allowed our
staff to watch children after hours. (We have no objection if parents
and staff make private arrangements. Any arrangements made for care
outside the center are private arrangements, separate from For Kid Sake
and incidents occurring during these arrangements are not, in any way,
the responsibility of For Kid's Sake).

An Infant schedule is provided more to outline what we do
over the course of most days.
¨
We play music
¨
We play with the infants to help development of skills
¨
We hold, rock and talk to the infants
¨
We read and sign to the infants
¨
We take the infants outside for fresh air. We keep the
infants in a shaded area, as children under six months should not use
sun block and children under one year are heat sensitive.
**Notes on Outside Play:
Ø
Outside Play is weather permitting.
Ø
Outside Play schedule may be adjusted between the rooms to
account for age of the children.
Ø
Our goal is to ensure children are outside twice a day,
weather permitting.
Note: This is our spring/fall
schedule. We adjust the activity time in the summer to take advantage
of the cooler hours (i.e. morning outside play is earlier) for outdoor
play. In the winter, we take the children outside if the weather
permits, otherwise we arrange for larger motor activities indoors.
