The Classrooms:
Resources for Parents
|
Pre-K Program SummaryOur Pre-K program has all of the educational advantages of many formal "preschools" with the added advantage of being a program which allows working parents to work. Our Pre-K room is generously sized to allow for 22 children, by state guidelines, although we will not accept more than 17 children into the program. Our Pre-K room is divided into learning centers (family living, kitchen, reading, art, computer, fine motor / manipulative play , blocks, and dramatic play). During the day children have both directed and free time. They participate in circle time, one-on-one teacher-guided activities and self-directed activities. They spend time in their classroom and out on our playground (weather permitting). They also attend a bi-weekly movement class. The design of the classroom and of the curriculum provides children with both structured and individual choice activities. Our Pre-K teacher, Ms. Michele, has here CDA and 16 years of experience working with children. For detailed information on Ms. Michele click on the Staff Bio link on the left side of the page. We accept both full time and part time children into the program.
Parent Comments on our programAlmost every parent with a child in this room has commented at one time or another on how happy they are with both the program and the guiding force behind the program - Ms. Shell.
