Preschool Program Summary

Our Preschool program has all of the educational advantages of many formal "preschools" with the added advantage of being a program which allows working parents to work.

Our preschool room is divided into learning centers (family living, kitchen, reading, art, computer, fine motor / manipulative play, blocks, and dramatic play).  During the day children have both directed and free time.  They participate in circle time, one-on-one teacher-guided activities and self-directed activities.  They spend time in their classroom and outside on our playground (weather permitting).  They also attend a bi-weekly movement class.  The design of the classroom and of the curriculum provides children with both structured and choice time.

Our preschool teachers are creative and enthusiastic educators, with years of experience, who make learning fun.  For detailed information on the teachers, please see their biographies.   Click here to see Preschool Staff Bios

We accept both full time and part-time children into the program.

Parent Comments on our Preschool Program

A new parent who joined our center recently had the following response when asked how she and her daughter liked our program:
It is wonderful, except for one thing.  I have to fight to get my daughter to leave at the end of the day!  She simply does not want to go home.  I have seen an increase in her language skills, she finally is completely potty-trained, and she is really excited about all the things she is learning with Ms. Hansa and Ms. Beth.

  **Notes on Outside Play:
Ø      Outside Play is weather permitting.
Ø      Outside Play schedule may be adjusted between the rooms to account for age of the children and circle time / art project activities.
Ø      Our goal is to ensure children are outside twice a day, weather permitting.

Note: This is our spring/fall schedule.  We adjust the activity time in the summer to take advantage of the cooler hours (i.e. morning outside play is earlier) for outdoor play.  In the winter, we take the children outside if the weather permits, otherwise we arrange for larger motor activities indoors.
