Many regulations apply to child care providers, however the
requirements governing the number of children to a caregiver, the education
and training of caregivers, the environment and the consistency of the
caregivers have a have a significant impact on your child's sense of well being
and security. Many of these same factors drive the cost establishing and
maintaining a child day care. In most states there are three types of child care settings outside a child’s home: Family Care, Group Home Care (Some states do not have a category for Group Home Care) and Center base care. On the following pages are summaries of some key regulations. For your convenience links to the full regulations are provided.
